NMFC Updates Effective august 15, 2020

The NMFTA has released updated the latest NMFC updates that will impact LTL shipments with an effective date of August 15th, 2020. Below are a few examples of NMFC changes, and you can access a full list of the updates here. 

Updates include, but are not limited to:

• Item 86310 "Gates, doorway, hallway, porch or stairway": NOI, in boxes, subject to Item 170 and amended to provide classes predicated on density, with breaks at 8 and 12 pcf. Concurrently, the description of item 86310 is amended for clarification by adding reference to hallway or stairway gates.

• Item 17050 "Pools or Pool Kits": swimming or wading, above-ground or semi-inground (see note item 17051), or Parts thereof, NOI, in boxes or crates, subject to Item 170 with classes predicated on density breaks at 10 and 15 pcf.

  • New Item 17051 also applies on accompanying complement of accessories or equipment.

  • Items 17052 and 17053 are canceled with no further application.

• Item 23700 "Blackboards or Chalkboards": NOI; Corkboards or Tackboards; or Whiteboards, Dry Erase Boards or Markerboards, NOI; in boxes or crates; item 23701, or in Package 2532, is amended to specify additional packaging requirements.

• New Item 29785 "Boxes or Cartons": fiberboard or paperboard, with or without components of other materials predicated on 11 density range classes (60 through 400). The following items will be canceled and replaced with NMFC 29785: 28920, 29205, 29240, 29250, 29285, 29400.
